Perpetuating the Rebbe's Vision

Dear Reader,

This Friday, the 11th of the Jewish month of Nissan, we will celebrate the anniversary of the birth of our Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. Born in 1902 in Nikolaev, Ukraine, the Rebbe grew up to be one of the most beloved and influential figures of the past century, comforting, encouraging, and igniting the souls of millions.

All of us here at Chabad.org – programmers, editors, designers, Ask the Rabbi responders – came to this work because we were inspired by the Rebbe's vision, to make Torah knowledge and observance accessible to all Jews, everywhere. This goal was based on his genuine love for every Jew, and his belief that Judaism is the heritage of every Jew, no matter how outwardly disconnected.

Whenever we repair a technical glitch, add another video or page of information to the site, or respond to any of the thousands of queries that come in, we believe we are realizing the Rebbe's vision.

The Rebbe was passionate about Jews doing mitzvot and embracing their identity as Jews; he was also known to never be satisfied with "good enough." As we commit ourselves to a year of improvements – in our personal lives and in our work on this site – we hope you will join us in committing to do one more mitzvah (and maybe more) in honor of this special day.

Sincerely,

The Chabad.org Team
